Vibrafloor

Highest Quality for Absolute Reliability

How it works

A pile of bulk product, no matter how big, rests on a floor. If it loses its grip, it collapses. This is the idea behind the Vibrafloor principle: to destabilize the product pile by injecting vibration energy at its foot.

The Vibrafloor system assists gravity by generating controlled vibrations into the bulk product. The vibrations, totally harmless for the storage structure, destabilize the residual talus of product left at the end of the gravitational phase, and carry it through the outlet, leaving the storage completely empty.

The simplicity of this concept is captured in the design of the module, the building block of the vibrating floor. The module is the assembly of a vibrating plate and a vibrator on a rigid, sealed chassis.

In practice, the storage floor is given a slope, between 10° and 20° depending on the desired discharge rate. The slope is entirely covered with modules, each one equipped with a vibrator. Modules are triggered sequentially from bottom to top, until all the product is cleared out. Their activation is based on the signal of capacitive sensors, the eyes of the system.

The Vibrafloor technology has been patented for many years in most areas of the world, and it continues to evolve every day.

The following animation shows a typical unloading sequence, from first gravity flow to complete emptying.

At the end of the gravity flow phase, the Vibrafloor system awakens, sensing the absence of product in the discharge hopper.

Row after row, starting from the discharge and going up the slopes, sensors will detect the absence of product and send the signal to the PLC to activate the corresponding modules, evacuating the corresponding layers of product.

Layer by layer, the residual talus is progressively evacuated until the last sensor, next to the storage wall, is uncovered. After a short delay, the storage is completely empty, and the system can then shut down, ready for the next reclaim!
